![]() In spite of the B’Rel’s small size, it carries one of the most devastating arrays of weaponry in the Alpha Quadrant. In the 2350’s, the B’Rel Class Bird of Prey was introduced as an upgrade from the original and aging ships. Several variants of the Bird of Prey design have been produced, and though it is no longer thought of as an “intergalactic pirate”, it still plays a large role in the defense of the Empire. Since the Bird of Prey only needed a crew of 12, they were much more expendable and more numerous than Klingon battleships. ![]() ![]() While the larger D-7 type battlecruisers were normally limited to military operations and border patrol, the smaller Bird of Prey could roam the quadrant and take advantage of opportunities as they arose. ![]() The Bird of Prey was first introduced into the Empire as a way to get the Klingon people reinvigorated about galactic expansion and conquest. For decades, the various designs of Klingon Birds of Prey made up the backbone of the Klingon fleet. ![]()
